Metal/Rock
BestMetal can be possible, depending on the type of narrative you are going go with and the style you want the music to be. You can go for something soft, such as a Nickelback style or something heavy such as Disturbed .With bands such as Evanescence, Nightwish and Within Temptation, tends to go for the same type of dramatic style and similar but also completely different locations, with their own styles, ideas and narratives.
Artist – Evanescence

There are little factors which can be possible from this music video that can be achieved. The interior scenes, where Amy passes the rooms are possible, but the climbing of the building wouldn’t be possible without the full experienced and trained professionals to help us. We don’t have the money to do so and the Green screen they used wouldn’t be possible on their scale.
Here Amy is passing rooms as she is climbing the building, this would be possible in a different circumstance, such as different scenarios in a hotel the performer, who sings the song, will pass the various rooms, or another one could be passing through houses, where each house is different, with their own different families etc.

The building is made on a set and behind it would be green screen where after capturing the video, they will replace the green screen with CGI; they will insert the city where the green screen is.
This would be possible, the band are already in a room in the building, performing the song. This can be possible depending on what type of genre we go with. Cutting back and forth from performance and narrative, is a great technique, it keeps the audiences eye on the video and they
get to see a variety of performance methods, as well as getting to see the band/artist perform.

The same here again, green screen will be surrounding the building and the green screen will be replaced with the insert of CGI buildings/city
The wires attached to Amy for the falling scene will prove challenging, depending on the story line. To have equipment for this on this scale would be impossible and expensive, health and safety is high risk, even though you have a crash mat underneath and an experience and medics on stand by, you still have those possibilities of injury.
Song – My Immortal
In black and white, this music video as a narrative but generally is a piece where the artist/band are in different locations singing the song. The reason why the song is so popular is from the follow up from Bring Me to Life and the song is a beautiful piece, with strings, piano vocals and with the band coming in with the final chorus. This would be a possible music video style to choose, locations would need to be varied, a place for the band would be needed (if a band is included) and the time to storyboard the piece.
The variety of locations and angle shots keeps this video interesting and holds the audiences attention. From High angle to show the location and close up to show the singer/artist lip syncing the words.
These are a few of the many locations they chose to shoot. The locations where in the same place, in Brazil and so where easier for access for different places and a variety of interest for the audience.

This is the location where the band plays at the final chorus. The room as lights as well as natural light flooding in from the floor to ceiling high windows, which gives the black and white effect a brighter effect.
Close up shot of Amy lip syncing the song.
Ben walking through a street and he appears in other several locations.
High angle shot of the location, gives the audience the indication of where Amy is.
Amy in another location, on a roof which as a good angle on the city, which looks like it is night, when the sun is setting, there is still light there to illuminate the scene which makes the black and white effect less dark.
A long angle shot of the band with their instruments and equipment. So throughout the video we have seen every single band member.

Song – Good Enough
This song is just Amy on her own, in other videos we see her and the band within the video, here this song was written by her and was something personal to her. They used a set fully kitted out, with furniture and ornaments and the grand piano was on a raised up platform where she plays for most parts of the last section of the video. We have a piano but to be used in the way that Amy did in her video wouldn’t be possible, the piano belongs to the school and we won’t be able to find one that can have water pouring down on it and fire surrounding it. The fire would be a safety hazard and the rain would probably need to be natural if we wanted it to look professional. To do a video on this scale wouldn’t be possible but can be done in some aspects.
Here they have used certain softwares to put the floorboards back together. After this we see a close up shot of Amy walking across the floorboards and where her feet have been have left imprints on the floor. The footprints fade into the board with a sort of steaming effect coming off.
Here the furniture is a key example for the conventions in this music video. There is a lot there and shows how realistic it looks, as though it belongs to someone. It also shows the style of the video and Amy's personal style/personality.Again, this is probably been made with a particular software, the wine glass, is melting and so the water is too and is being poured out at the bottom. Along with this many objects melt and then it all catches fire.
From looking at the behind the scenes footage, there was a recording of the fire here, without Amy and then there was another where she was in sat at the piano with the fire around her. They have taken both recordings and edited the visual, so they took a few flames out that covered up Amy.
Here, we have the water pouring down which distinguishes the flames. This creates a more dramatic effect and keeps up with that idea of the elements, which also mirrors Amy's feelings and mimics the lyrics.
The plants growing across the set and over the furniture are all put in later with particular softwares, this creates the effect of water helps plants to grow, the water stops and the plants grow and ends the video beautifully.
They have used different camera techniques to view the different parts of the video and the effects from the melting of objects to the fire and the final element of the plants growing. They use tilt, zoom, a static shot, close ups, long shots.
This is the final shot of the video, this is created through again with particular softwares as you can tell it does look CGI like compared to that of Amy in the top left hand corner.
This is from the behind the scenes (Making of Good Enough) and behind Amy you can see the materials and set pieces that are used, which shows that the place was pacifically made for the video and not at somebody's home. Here we have different shots the one of the pieces in the music video, where Amy takes a picture and places it under the floor boards where she buries it in the soil. We can see the sort of camera work that is being used to make the video look professional.
Here the crew are bringing in pieces of the set, they have taken a spare empty place, probably a storage building and used it to create the set.
Here they set objects and the set on fire and film various pieces of the set on fire in different angles and camera techniques.
They have the fire brigade on set to control the fires, so nobody gets injured and the fire doesn't get out of control.
Here the camera as a cover to protect it from the water that pours down on the set and also allows the camera men to film Amy when she is further into the set and they don't get wet and the camera is protected as the wires are hidden on the special equipment that they use.
Here the water is pouring down on Amy after it distinguishes the flames which then the plants follow growing and spreading through the set.
